New Muslims
Practical guidance for the first days, weeks and months after taking the shahadah — one step at a time, without pressure to change everything at once.
Your First Day as a Muslim
Take a breath — you don't need to change everything at once. On your first day, focus on the shahadah itself, telling someone you trust if you'd like support, and learning just the basics of one prayer. Everything else — the five daily prayers, fasting, deeper study — can be learned gradually, over weeks and months, not all at once.
New MuslimsYour First Week as a Muslim
Use your first week to build one small habit at a time: learning wudu (ritual purification), practicing a single daily prayer consistently, and finding one person or community you can ask questions to. Consistency with a little is better than trying to do everything and burning out.
